DESERT PALETTE

Our client loved bright colors and especially blue, so we gave this space a whole new spirit. I was inspired by the pastel colors of Artist's Palette in Death Valley National Park. which drove the color scheme throughout this entire home. We started with solving functionality, creating an open-concept layout to the living room and removing the soffit to maximize storage and swapping the placement of the range and the sink. The microwave and dishwasher are hidden on the front side of the island. We went with birch plywood cabinetry, giving this space a playful and industrial feel but the star of the show is the Ann Sacks backsplash and cylindrical hood. We based the color of the upper cabinetry on the hue of the backsplash, drawing your eye upward and outward, making the space feel larger. The mix of silhouettes of the pendant lights give this space a refined, yet quirky vibe.
