ART DECO PROJECT
The name Art Deco Project is truly fitting because the building was built in 1928 and restored in 1992. The building gave us so much inspiration for the design of this project with its exposed beams, French windows and Juliette balconies, light filled open living spaces with banks of windows and city views creating an unparalleled urban living environment. We chose a polished concrete floor throughout and warmed it up with putty-colored and walnut slatted European cabinetry. The stone we chose for the countertop in the kitchen becomes an art piece as it flows up the backsplash on the main wall. The brass foot rail, arched millwork details, artisan crafted island light fixture and wainscot moulding in the master bedroom are a nod to the Art Deco time period. We brought the space to life with the innovative storage solutions, Scandinavian tile patterns in the bathroom as well as with the mix of vintage and new furniture and styling pieces. We created a design-forward and comfortable space for our client and her cats (scroll down for the hidden litter box and cat food storage in the kitchen) to enjoy for years to come.
